Grand OPENING Celebration - Saturday the 12th!
After a very successful opening weekend with long lines of happy shoppers and over 40 new member-owners, we are ready to celebrate our official GRAND OPENING!
Please join us this Saturday, December 12th as we come together as a co-op to celebrate all of OUR efforts and the possibilities for OUR future. Throughout the day, shoppers will have the opportunity to meet local producers like Nice Cream, Tomato Mountain Farms, and Aqua Ranch, and taste their delicious products.
We hope you will join us!
11:30am – 1:00pm– Family Fun at Logan Square Library – We will be hosting arts and crafts projects including “decorate a pickle”, “make your own noisemaker”, and face painting. Come meet other families who are involved with the Dill Pickle.
1:00pm – Pickle Parade – Meet at the Library for a short parade down Fullerton Avenue. Bring something to make noise with (pots and pans, a musical instrument, your voice!) or perhaps dress as your favorite vegetable. We are making a scene rain or shine, so dress appropriately!
1:15pm – Speeches and BYOScissors Ribbon Cutting Ceremony – Matt Nardella of Moss Design, Suzanne Keers of Local First, Jim Slama of FamilyFarmed.org and other leaders in the community will be speaking at this event. We anticipate that speeches will last approximately 30 minutes with the BYOScissors Ribbon Cutting Ceremony beginning approximately at 1:45pm.
9:00pm – Celebrate in the Neighborhood - Join us at Weegee’s Lounge, 3659 W. Armitage to continue the celebration! It’s going to be a party!

Opening day!
The Dill Pickle opened its doors for the first time today, Saturday, December 5, 2009.
At 12 noon, board member Kathleen Duffy opened the doors to the store she envisioned five years ago:
Opening day was a tremendous success. Despite long check-out lines (due to a minor technological hiccup), customers flooded the store with enthusiasm, good vibes, and purchasing power:
